Year 6 have been working hard this week and have completed their learning around percentages. We have been very impressed with their understanding and application of this topic. We have been using a range of revision tools in class this week so children should now have these bookmarked for use at home.
REMINDER: It is World Book Day next week (7th March).
English
This week we have been working on writing a balanced argument. Some of the children selected their own topics which ranged from should the monarchy be abolished to are footballers paid too much. Some of the children were working on a similar theme from last week are were writing about whether the school day should be extended. We have been very impressed with the work produced so far and some of the final drafts will be ready for next week’s blog.
History
This week we finally completed our learning on WW1. This has been a fabulous topic and the children have thoroughly enjoyed it and have retrained lots of the learning. Our final two lessons were on the Battle of the Somme and the Treaty of Versailles and how this impacted on the countries after the war.
Well done everyone, some fabulous learning.
