Help needed – Please could we have any cereal or empty boxes that you have at home. We need them for a project next week. We need them for Wednesday.
We have had a busy week completing lots of assessments. The children have approached these with confidence and have impressed us with their attitude and determination. We will now spend some time analysing the results and feedback during parents evening in a few weeks time. These assessments are used to form a base line and highlight any objectives from previous year groups which need addressing.
English
This week we have been writing to build tension and atmosphere. The children have worked really hard thinking about their vocabulary choices, sentence lengths and communicating the emotions of the character. We have been impressed with their writing and have attached some examples on the link below. We picked the part of Kensuke where Michael runs into the ocean and is attacked by a jellyfish. It is a dramatic scene with lots of emotion and action.
Truman Books
As a school, we have a loyalty account set up with Truman Books. This means that if you, your family members or your children purchase any books from Truman Books and mention Farsley Farfield Primary School, we will accrue points to spend on lovely new books for school. They also have lots of children’s events planned for this year’s Farsley Literature Festival, details of which can be found at www.farsleylit.co.uk
