English
We have begun to write a non-chronological report about an island that we have invented. The children this week have designed their own island and written an introduction to their creation. Would you like to visit any of these islands?
Here are some introductions to our islands
Geography
This week we have continued our work on natural disasters and the children have learned about the Richter Scale and how this is used to measure the magnitude of an earthquake. We also had a go at building our own seismographs in groups! Fortunately there were no earthquakes to measure however the shaking of the tables provided some excellent results.
Book Fair
It is the book fair next week! We hope you will join us in our excitement at the brilliant books we will have on offer in the fair which will be from Wednesday 18th October until Monday 23rd October before and after school, in the Infant building. The children have been asked to design a poster to advertise it and there are prizes to be won so get creative over the weekend and hand entries to your class teacher ASAP!
