We are almost at the end of an amazing year. Well done to all the children for a wonderful performance on Wednesday of Cinderella & Rockerfella. We brought the house down and the feedback we have had from everyone is that it was a brilliant show. Thank you to everyone who helped us from costumes and props to rehearsing lines at home – and of course thanks for being a wonderful audience on Wednesday evening.

This term we have been designing alarms. The children learnt about the history of the burglar alarm (did you know Romans used to use Geese?!) and then designed a lunchbox which would be alarmed to secure their lunch from would-be thieves. Today the children in Year 6 created their alarmed lunchboxes and tried to outsmart their teachers who were trying desperately to steal their food.
Arrangements for the end of year.
Monday – The children will have a small end of year party on Monday afternoon. Children will need to have lunch as usual at school and bring a packed lunch if they usually have one. We will provide some party food but would still like them to have something balanced at midday before the party! They are welcome to bring a change of clothes to change into at the end of lunch.
Tuesday – End of Year assembly. Please come along to our end of year assembly on Tuesday morning at 9am in the KS2 hall if you can. It’s a chance to celebrate our wonderful children throughout the school and, of course, say a special goodbye to an amazing Year 6 group as they go off to secondary school.
Shirts – Children are welcome to bring a spare white t-shirt to be signed by staff and friends which they can bring around on Tuesday morning (an ideal opportunity to re-use any uniform which they have grown out of!)
Water Fight – We will be holding a water fight on Tuesday afternoon as is tradition! Please remember to bring dry clothes (including pants!) and a towel to get changed into before the end of the day. Water pistols welcome!
Have a lovely weekend!
