6D residential day 3

The children were all asleep by 11ish and they more or less slept through. Bless them, they are shattered.

This morning, 17 children did a series of high wire challenges and the others went on a lovely local walk.

The walkers did 3.5 miles in the morning sunshine. They learnt about some of the Viking history of the area and were intrigued by the ‘guillotines’ along the way. What were they for?

The rest of the group did the three traverses of the gorge on the high wires: a single pair, a three-wire set up and a zip wire. The children were all very competent at Via Ferrata and followed the safety instructions very well. They had to be brave and strong.

Everyone completed all three stages!

We are limited in our photos and videos according to the adults’ fixed positions on the course. We didn’t really get much footage of the zip wire at all: the best was Mrs Hawkhead at the end!

There are more photos and videos here.

They have been a great group to take away and we hope that they have enjoyed themselves and are proud of themselves.

What a fantastic last day! Well done 6D. Thank you Very much to all the staff for all your hard work (although you looked like you were having more fun than the children on the zip wires 😜)
