Year 5 End of Year Blog
It’s that time of year again! We have come to the end of another fantastic school year, filled with lots of learning, fun and happiness!
There have been many highlights, including some great trips to Sunnybank Mills, Cartwright Hall and the picturesque Malham Cove. We have journeyed back in time to Ancient Greece and Ancient Islamic Civilisations and explored the continent of South America, as well as closer to home in the Yorkshire Dales. Of course, we cannot forget our fantastic residentials, where the children got stuck into a number of outdoor adventurous activities, including caving and mountain biking. Another highlight was certainly our Christmas performance of Aladdin, where the children were able to show off their impressive acting and singing skills! Throughout the year, the children have continued to impress us with their resilience, determination and enthusiasm for learning, and it truly has been a pleasure to teach each and every one of them!
Music
This year, the children have engaged enthusiastically with all of our music lessons and we have finished our final unit with 5Ke completing a whole class performance, and as part of their “Big Music Quiz of the Year” in 5KH, each team had to create an improvisation piece in G major. All the children have really enjoyed learning to sing and play lots of new songs on a range of instruments, and have made great progress with their ability to compose and improvise! Enjoy watching our final performances below!
We hope you all have a wonderful summer holiday and want to wish all of Year 5 good luck as they move into Year 6! We would also like to thank you for all of your support with your children’s learning this year!
Best wishes,
Mrs Kenvyn and Mrs Kroon
