Phonics
Our tricky word this week is ‘all‘. Can your child say this word in a sentence?
We have also learnt the phoneme/ grapheme ‘ai‘ like in rain and ‘ee‘ like in ‘tree’. Can you use your phonic flashcards to make words that have ‘ai’ and ‘ee’ in?
Maths
This week we have been looking at the composition of numbers to 5. We explored the number bonds to 5 and had fun doing various practical activities. Can your child tell you what two numbers can make 3, 4 or 5? For example “3 and 1 make 4”, “3 and 2 make 5”.
Bedtime Story Evening
We hope you all enjoyed our Bedtime Story Evening. It was great fun!
The children enjoyed making lots of posters and signs for the event.
What fun coming back to school in our pyjamas!
World Book Day Fun!
We enjoyed an assembly with Wendy from Truman Books and we also spent time with our Year 4 Reading Buddies. We had a lovely day sharing books.
Visit to Farsley Library
The children enjoyed our visit to Farsley Library. Kate, the librarian, read them some stories and then they explored the library. Thank you to all the parents who joined us this morning.
Secret Readers!
Thank you to all our ‘Secret Readers’. The children are enjoying listening to lots of different stories. If you or a family member would like to be a ‘Secret Reader’ please email your child’s teacher and we can arrange a time.
Mothering Sunday and Ramadan
This week we have talked about celebrating our mummy’s and all the wonderful things they do for us.
“Mummy always gives me kisses”, “Mummy helps me get my breakfast”, “I like my mummy playing with me”, “I hug my mummy”.
We also talked about the start of Ramadan. We are so lucky to have children in our classes who can share what they know. We found out that Muslims don’t eat during the day, they eat before the sun rises and after the sun sets. Some children have a Ramadan calendar and when they reach the end they celebrate Eid.
Have a lovely weekend.
