Music and the arts are important parts of a primary school curriculum. Last Friday we had a lovely Y1 art gallery display in the infant hall; this Friday our junior choir enjoyed a workshop in the junior hall with Artform teachers and band, along with children from a couple of other local schools. The finale of the morning was performing a concert for KS2 children and parents from the three schools.
On Thursday the children seemed to really enjoy our version of World Book Day. Many thanks to Truman Books for their support of the day and to the English team for their planning. We had some lovely, imaginative entries into the WBD competition. Our reading buddy sessions were a highlight for many.
On Wednesday we had a lovely ‘Reception Bedtime Story Evening’ that was really well attended. We got some lovely feedback including an email that exclaimed: “We thought it was superb. [Our son] has been so excited all week and he loved it, as did his little brother!! The school looked amazing and we really appreciate the effort that everyone made!!” Well done all the staff involved.
