English
This week in English we have been reading, performing and writing African animal poems. We have talked about how poets use alliteration and rhyme. We have collected lots of right choice adjectives and verbs for our animals. Finally we wrote our own fantastic poems!
Spelling
This week in spellings we have been looking at contractions. We have learned that the apostrophe goes where the missing letters are. Some are easier than others!
Maths
This week in maths we have been measuring lengths. We have learned how to measure in centimetres and metres. We have also compared lengths using the words shorter and taller.
We have also now shown the children how to go on TTRockstars. This is a great online tool to practise multiplication and division facts. Enjoy!
Geography
We have finished our topic on Zambia with learning about how children live in a rural village. We found out about their school, daily chores and what they like to play. Some things were the same as us but some were very different.
Art
In art this week, we completed our African sunset silhouettes. We are very proud of our final pieces.
