Head teacher’s blog 22/5/15
This week, Year 5 have been on residential in the Yorkshire Dales. The weather at the start of the week was rather wet and wild but they showed Farfield grit and determination and battled through! They have enjoyed walking, mountain biking and caving and have learnt about rivers, rocks, national parks and the history of the Settle to Carlisle railway. They have also benefitted from looking after themselves away from their family: being responsible for their kit, ‘chores’ and working as a team. Many thanks to all the staff and volunteers for their great efforts and commitment, without which the residential could not happen. Particular thanks go to Rachel, Caroline (school staff) and Matthew (East Bradford Cycle Club) for efforts well beyond the call of duty, and to Mr Cooke for going on residential all week at very short notice.
