A wet week in The Dales

We have had a very wet week in The Dales with Year 5 classes on residential at Ribblehead. Despite the appalling weather from Wednesday, the children (and staff) battled on and completed almost all the planned activities: caving, mountain-biking, waterfall walks, night walks and a river study. Well done to all of the children and many, many thanks to staff – especially Mrs Hawkhead and Mrs du Preez – volunteers and supporters: British Cycling and Northern Rail.

Outdoor and Adventurous Activity is an important part of the PE curriculum and our children get lots of opportunities for this. Our geography fieldwork was also described by Ofsted recently as ‘Exceptional’.
