Farm Club 30 Sept 2024
This was probably the wettest Farm Club ever! We kept working on the farm despite the rain, although we tried to stay in the polytunnels if we could. The children worked hard!
After last week’s big harvest, there wasn’t much to pick. We did inside watering using collected rainwater, took redundant leaves off tomato plants (well done Zahra and Sophia) and prepared two beds for next year by adding lots of new compost and manure. Some children collected eggs and a few children planted some pond/water edge wild flower seeds in the meadow area where we dug a mud patch for the Rainbow Run.
We did manage to harvest a few indoor figs from the top polytunnel. There are lots of fruits on one of the trees and we don’t know how many more will ripen before the cold weather kicks in…
