Nursery – 10.01.25

The Three Little Pigs

This term we are looking at ‘The Three Little Pigs.’ We have enjoyed reading the different stories, making predictions, and joining in with the repetitive phrases. We have also started to learn a ‘Three Little Pigs’ song. A video will be uploaded in the next couple of weeks.

Maths

We have started our focused maths sessions this week. We are currently looking at ‘Puppy Number 1’, which focuses on number 1, the colour green, and circles. We have spotted circles around the classroom, hunted for items coloured green, and looked at the numeral and word for 1/one.

Snow and ice

The weather has had a huge effect on our learning and outside time this week. We still got to enjoy it by bringing it into the classroom.

Exercise

Due to the outside areas being closed, we spent time completing activities in the classroom and the hall. The children can follow directions well. We followed ‘Danny Go’, completed some ‘Cosmic Yoga’, used the apparatus, and danced to a variety of music.

Everything else

This week we haven’t stopped… The children have come up with lots of ideas of things we can learn about (some not necessarily suited to the time of year!) We have learnt about ladybirds, dinosaurs/fossils, building castles (and houses for pigs), completed new paintings/names/pictures for our lockers, drawn ourselves to show progress through ‘Dough Disco’, and looked at how to send an email!
