Nursery survey (for 2017-18)
Typically, children have attended school nurseries for 15 hours per week from the age of three. We have offered this as 5 x 3hrs mornings or afternoons, or blocks of 2.5 days: M,T W am or W pm, Th, Fri.
You may be aware that a new scheme is coming into effect in September whereby many working families may be eligible for 30 hours of free childcare per week. To check if you are eligible and for more information, please click here.
All schools, nurseries and childminders are grappling with this new scheme to see how it will work in practice. Even now, details of how it will be funded are still only trickling in and we are all having to remodel our business plans. As parents, things may also be confusing for you and you will want some clarity. If we chose to offer the 30 hour option, and there was a high level of demand, it could mean that we could offer less than the 52 places that we currently provide.
We have created a survey to gauge demand for these 30 hour places. We will continue to work with our on site private day nursery partners Little People to provide wrap-around care as needed but we are also interested to see if there is demand for us to increase our nursery opening hours.
Please complete the survey so that we can get as full a picture of the pattern of demand as possible. Offering flexibility can be fiendishly complicated, and the more information that we have the more likely it is that we can accommodate everyone’s wishes and circumstances.
