Cross country runners show grit and determination
It was a lovely crisp morning by the banks of the River Wharfe in Otley this morning for the latest Leeds Schools Cross Country competition. We had lots of competitors, particularly in the U9 boys’ race in which Alfie was our top finisher in a very creditable 12th place. The U9 boys team came sixth out of 20 schools. Results are here: http://www.lsaa.org.uk/R2PHGS2017.htm
Our runners looked very smart in their new running vests courtesy of Friends of Farfield PTA and I was VERY proud of all of them. Thanks to parents for their support and to Mr Little for organising the team. For your reference, the next races in this league are on Saturday 13th January, and after school on Wednesday 14th March. It would be great to have more girls from Y3/4 and more older children generally. There are no trials: the more the merrier and anyone can join in!
I didn’t get many pictures as I was a bit late…
It was good to see lots of ‘old boys’ and ‘old girls’ running for Priesthorpe in the older age-group races. The outstanding school seemed to be Rawdon Littlemoor Primary, especially in the U11 girls race.
The video of the start of the U11 boys race gives you a flavour of the size of the event. Can you spot Dev from Y5?

Another super morning! Love the photo of the three boys.
Well done to everyone who took part. ☺
Sounds like a good turn out, the vests look very smart. Sorry we missed this one as had a pre arranged scout event. Hopefully Logan and Macey will be at the next one…..Well done team Farfield ✔
Well done everyone. It looks like you all had a great morning – what a brilliant way to start the weekend!
It was definitely muddy! Really great to see all the effort from the children and the vests!
Excellent event, thank you Mr Little for giving your Saturday morning to do this (Hope you got all of the mud out!!). Brilliant effort by all of the children and great to see them in their running vests. Eva & Nathan really enjoyed taking part and would love to be involved again in January.
A fantastic effort in muddy and cold conditions! Well done to everyone who took part!
