Farsley Farfield Primary School

Charity Dinner

At February half term, two of our staff – Mrs Fisher and Mrs Carney – are travelling with colleagues from Crawshaw Academy to India as part of our British Council partnership with our new partner school, GAV Senior School (Head teacher Mrs Anjou Rattan). The school teaches children from age 5 to 18 and is based in the town of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, in the foothills of the Himalayas.  Whilst they are there, our staff will also be visiting the Tong Len charity again. Tong-Len’s mission is to help displaced communities in North India achieve a secure and sustainable future by addressing the root causes of their poverty and ill-health through a range of education and health-based projects.

More information about Tong Len can be found on their website.

Staff and children are planning a range of fundraising events for the beginning of February so that a donation can be made to the Tong Len charity to support their valuable work. Already, a charity dinner at Deeva on Farsley Town Street has been arranged (flyer attached). We need to sell at least 50 tickets and I beleive that 40% of the tickets have been sold even before the publicity has gone out! It should be a good night!

I hope that you can support this work by attending this event or supporting another element of the fund-raising. We are currently looking for raffle prizes – could your company help with this?
