Farsley Farfield Primary School

Farfield volunteer is Yorkshire’s Unsung Hero!

Mandy Parker is a former governor of our school and our most generous and longest-standing volunteer. She runs an after-school cycling club at school (and has done for over a decade!) and is an important part of our junior PE curriculum. So many of our children wouldn’t be able to ride a bike if it wasn’t for Mandy. She has now been awarded the BBC Yorkshire Unsung Hero award in the run-up to Sports Personality of the Year for her work with East Bradford Cycle Club and our school. What a star!

Thank you Mandy!

Mandy has been a great support to all of my children. My eldest wouldn’t be able to cycle if it wasn’t for Mandy. My youngest was given confidence needed to take that leap and ‘keep cycling’.

Thank you Mandy for all you do!
