Farm Club November 4th 2024
There was a livestock focus in Farm Club this week. Our chickens were moved to their winter quarters, requiring us to prepare two coops, move food and water and create a new barrier to funnel the chickens in and out when they get the chance to come out into the field at lunchtime. We also had a guest member of farm club this week: Frederike from Y6 who had bought a harness and lead for our smallest pig ‘Socks’. Getting the harness on was quite a challenge: separating her into the viewing enclosure and distracting her with apples whilst we fumbled with the straps and buckles. Eventually we succeeded and Socks seemed to enjoy wandering around the orchard, gouging on more windfall.
Since Tuesday, Socks has been out every lunchtime with a range of children. Her wagging tail and willingness to come suggests that she is enjoying the trips out. Biscoff and Gremlin look a bit jealous…
