First Farm Club of the season
Rate this post
We had our first farm club of the new school year: 17 keen gardeners from Y3-6.
During this first session we toured the site and harvested what we could: figs, apples, tomatoes, courgette, cucumbers and a pepper (accidentally). We also harvested a butternut squash that had detached itself. We forgot to harvest grapes! (The figs are usually all finished by the end of August but this year everything is late.)
We watered and weeded the neglected top polytunnel.
We all got to take lots of produce home. We spotted some good-looking pumpkins, especially in the lower polytunnel. These are being saved for Harvest Festival!
