Farsley Farfield Primary School

Harvest Festival 2022

Both junior halls were packed for our first Harvest Festival since 2019. The stage was full of generous donations for our St George’s Crypt appeal, and this was supplemented by the end of our Farfield Farm harvest. On the stage, we also had wonderful scarecrows for the PTA competition. Thank you to everyone for their support.

Children sang five harvest-related songs and joined in with vegetable identification. The samba band played us in and some children accompanied the songs on instruments. Reuben played the recorder beautifully. Pupils from Year 6 recited a poem about conkers and a prayer.

We even had some parent participation: Amrit and Martin showing the children how to play conkers.

A Farfield Harvest Festival also traditionally has a talking vegetable, and this year it was a cauliflower from the farm worried about next half term’s KS2 cooking curriculum!
