Head teacher’s blog 21st July
We are almost at the end of another good year at Farfield. Sadly, Ofsted didn’t come to see us and we are well overdue a visit.
On Wednesday evening I had the pleasure of watching the Y6 Leavers’ Show: a riotous panto-like performance that had me laughing and smiling throughout. I thought it was very impressive, with everyone involved and doing their ‘bit’ confidently. What really struck me was the quality of the singing, with so many children happy to deliver long solos or duets of very good quality. I really do think this has changed recently, with so many children now confidently singing solos in assemblies and shows. Some things never change: Y6 boys like to dress up as women.
I hope that people enjoyed sports day. We were lucky with the weather in the end, with a massive downpour drenching everyone shortly after the Junior Sports Day finished. I thought that the sports days were well organised by the staff team and that the children really competed well. The Junior Sports Day couldn’t have been tighter: a dead heat on points, with Simon beating Arjun by the narrowest of margins in a hastily arranged, very exciting 150m run-off.
