It has been a big week at Farfield: the publication of our Ofsted report, Harvest Festival and lots of sports and physical activity.

The Ofsted report is very positive and uses words and phrases like vibrant, happy, ambitious, exceptional (twice), flourish, highly effective and confident. We are delighted to have received such a validating report.

We had our first competitive matches of the season in football last week: narrowly losing 3-4 to Newlaithes in an U10 match, but beating Featherbank 4-1 in an U11 match. I am delighted that we can offer competitive football (and other sports) at Farfield – something that is all but lost in almost all schools in the area. Last week we also had cross-country runners in smart new PTA kit, a fun run, inclusive athletics and a wet active travel event at the Brownlee Centre.

On Friday we had our Harvest Festival. Thank you for all the donations and well done to all the children for their singing, recorder playing, samba and speaking parts. St George’s Crypt are coming next Thursday to collect the donations. Sadly, the event was marred by some terrible jokes from a ‘Crown of Thorns’ gourd.
