Headteacher blog 21st July 2017
We are nearly at the end of the school year but things are still very busy! We have lots of classrooms and stock rooms to clear ready for a new roof for one third of the infant building over the summer and four teachers clearing their rooms ready for new staff to move in.
On Monday, 4G had wonderful weather for their epic trip to Horton in Ribblesdale. They went to look at a quarry and to support their geography work on a contrasting village. On Wednesday, Year 1 had decent weather too as they all spent an enjoyable day at Blackhill Woods.
On Wednesday evening, we enjoyed a fantastic performance from Y6 for their Leavers’ Show. EVERY child was up on stage playing a full role and they really ‘turned it on!’ On Thursday, the Year2/3 Transition Picnic was a bit wet but it didn’t dampen spirits too much. Today, half of Year 4 are off to Fanwoods Activity Centre as a finale to their PE work on ‘Outdoor and Adventurous Activities’: it really is ‘all go at Farfield’.
We also continue to harvest on the farm and we are nurturing the plants ready for the main harvest in the autumn. Here are some pictures of a great group of Y3s on the farm this week and holding a Fuel for School/Farfield Farm stall. We have had a huge crop of new potatoes and carrots in an assortment of colours!

What a brilliant Leavers Assembly this morning. It was long but did not drag and the kids were great.
We have all had such a good time over the last 14 years that we have been involved with Farfield School.
All the best.
Thank you Dave. It has been a pleasure to teach Izzy and Billy. best wishes for the future for all your family!
