Headteacher blog 26th May 2023
It has been a gloriously sunny week at Farfield and we have made the most of our beautiful grounds with playing and lessons across the whole site. I enjoyed an afternoon on the school farm with all the Y1 children, looking at the chickens and learning about how we look after them. The children have enjoyed playing with the new recreational equipment provided by the PTA.
On Monday, our Y4 skipping team (half the cohort) attended the city skipping finals. They returned at tea time triumphantly with a shiny winner’s shield. Well done! Y5 and the girls’ football teams both did very well to reach the semi-finals of their respective competitions before bowing out. I am grateful for all the children’s efforts and to the staff that worked late to facilitate such a large amount of sport.
This week Y2 teachers have been marking their SATs papers and the children seem to have done well. Y6 and their teachers have been working with Mr Beevers making lots of bird boxes – some of which will be for sale. It has been a noisy week with all the sawing and hammering but the boxes look really good!
