Headteacher blog 4th April 2025
It has been a glorious, sunny week: a wonderful end to a very successful term. Our Muslim families spent a day or two celebrating Eid at the start of the week and school felt quiet without about 30% of our population. We were back to our bustling best by mid-week.
We had two very positive Parents’ Evenings Nursery-Y5 this week. No one asked to see me which is a good sign! It has been a very busy period for the teachers with those meetings, SEND reviews and end-of-term assessments – they deserve and need their Easter break!
Finally, it was end of an era this week as Ms Howells led her last Farfield Farm session on Thursday. Ms Howells has retired from that role but will continue as a recorder teacher and very part time Y5 teacher until the end of the school year. Ms Howells has been our farm leader for many years and has done a truly magnificent job. She will be very much missed in this role and we have a big challenge replacing her. It was fitting that her last week in role was such a sunny one – I hope she leaves with very warm, positive memories of her valuable time with us in this role.
