Headteacher blog 8th December 2023
It has been a week of weather: from frozen, snowy conditions to thoroughly wet and miserable. These last few months must be some of the wettest for a long time and the grounds are sodden. Lots of things are being postponed and we have troublesome water ingress in the infant hall.
Thankfully, some visits have continued: Y5 touring Farsley looking at historic buildings and Y6 visiting a gurdwara. We are fortunate to have such great heritage here in the village for the children to study and learn from. The Y6 visit to the gurdwara was very successful, with one child I spoke to declaring it the “best trip ever!” I suspect that the delicious food given to the children – dahl, rice and chappatti – may have played a part in that review!
On Wednesday we enjoyed the Festive Fair. The PTA worked so hard to put it on and our community were very generous with donations and other support. Santa did a great job and must have been so cold out in the courtyard! (Good job he’s used to Arctic conditions!) Thank you to everyone involved.
