Hunting, Gathering, Composing and Tasting!
It’s been another jam-packed week in Year 3!
Music
This week, Year 3 became composers, making up their own set of four-beat rhythms using three notes, and recording their compositions so that they could repeat them on their glockenspiels. The children did really well with this task!
History
In history, we thought about the life of a hunter-gatherer and considered some of the ways that life changed from the Palaeolithic (early) to Mesolithic (middle) Stone Age. We then went on a walk outside to find things that we might be able to use to help us survive a nomadic way of life.
R.E
In R.E, 3B revisited the story of the Exodus and then tried different foods from the story of Passover, using the Seder plate.
P.E
In P.E, 3S have been doing some very impressive work in gymnastics, showing great control over their body movements and working really hard on the challenge of creating symmetrical balances with a partner.
Meanwhile, 3B have been working hard on their athletics skills with Brad from Leeds Rhinos.
Art
As part of their PPA, some children have been doing art with Mrs Cairns. They have been learning about colour mixing, creating different shades using watercolours.
The children have also been busy writing Stone Age diaries and comparing numbers!
Well done to our special mentions this week: Amelia, Ayaan H, Sirat and Issa!
Please do remember to keep reading at home and to bring your signed reading record to school every day.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend,
Mrs Sykes and Mrs Begum
