Making Shapes
Over the last two weeks in Year 3, we have completed our end of year assessments in reading and maths. We are so proud of how all the children have done and the wonderful progress they have made. Well done for all your hard work, Year 3!
Maths
We had great fun in maths making 3D shapes using marshmallows, cocktail sticks and straws! This activity was a little messy, and required some team work, but it really helped us understand the number of vertices and edges that different 3D shapes have.
Computing
In computing we tested out a simulation for a futuristic mission to space! Everyone thought really carefully about what equipment they would need to help rescue some stranded crew members, and they used email to communicate with the shuttle commander and captain. I’m pleased to say we were successful in our mission, and everyone returned to Earth safely!
English
In English we have been practising our Sound Collector poem, ready for our performances next week. The children have done really well to learn the poem. They are reading with some great expression, actions and sound effects!
Well done to our Special Mentions this week: Finley, Zara, Anthony and Neave.
Hope everyone who is coming to Camp Over this weekend has a wonderful time.
Best wishes,
Mrs Sykes and Mrs Begum
