Malham week
Good evening. We have had a great week in Year 5. 5KH went to Malham on Wednesday, with 5HB making the long trip on Friday. The weather was good both days, with one 5HB child telling me that they have now broken their rain record. Ribblehead is now a distant memory!
Malham
We started with a walk to Janet’s Foss, although 5HB firstly had a quick trip to the source of the River Aire at Aire Head.
This innocuous pile of rocks seems a bit underwhelming but this is the start of the river that flows through Leeds and on to the North Sea.
After walking to Janet’s Foss and on to lunch at Gordale Scar, the children had fun playing in the (freezing cold) water. We then set off to find Malham Cove.
We excelled in map reading.
Obviously, we made it to the cove.
Then on to the icecreams
This is just a snap shot of the two days out.

Election night
The classes both spent time talking about the general election on Thursday. 5HB had a mock vote, with the actual party manifestos being read out by selected candidates.
Bucking the national trend, the Conservative Party won, with 35% share of the vote! If this was replicated across the nation…
Finally, a big thank you to all our parent volunteers this week who accompanied us on the trips. Your help has been invaluable and very much appreciated by everyone.
Have a great weekend and hope to see you all at the camp over.
