Nursery – 20.09.24
We have had another busy week! We have started to read our class book ‘Dear Zoo’. The children have impressed us with their knowledge of different animals. We will continue to read this book and other animal books throughout this term.
Spiders
This week we found some magnificent spider webs. We decided to hunt for the spiders that made them. We found some fantastic spiders and were able to capture some of them. We counted how many legs they had and looked at the beautiful strips and colours on their bodies.
Tap sticks
The children have shown some amazing listening skills this week. They have all shown they can listen and repeat. This is a great start to early phonics. The tap sticks follow the beat in time with a song, which helps children think about the rhythm of words. We also used them for hitting word syllables, such as ‘a-pple!’.
Early handwriting
This week we started our early writing sessions. We had great fun following instructions to create different marks/symbols. These key marks/symbols and movements are used in writing letters, so this early practise will support future writing.
Everything else
Have a lovely weekend,
The Nursery Team
