Nursery – 21.03.25
Phonics
During our phonics sessions, we have continued to read rhyming stories. The children are becoming very good at spotting the rhyming words. We have also played rhyming games.
Maths
We have started to look at the number 4. We read the ‘Puppy Number 4’ book which also looks at squares and the colour pink. We looked at squares in more detail and discussed them having 4 equal sides as well as 4 corners.
Planting
As spring has sprung, we have placed some planting resources in our classroom. We have discussed what is needed for a seed to grow and looked at how the seed transforms.

World Down Syndrome Day
Lots of children remembered to wear odd socks today. We celebrated World Down Syndrome Day by colouring in odd socks. We also watched a video to help us learn about Down Syndrome and discussed how special some of our friends are.

Everything else
This week we have managed to complete part of our ‘Little Feet’ map. Thank you to all parents who are encouraging the walk to and from school. We have also been very busy with the new bricks, got the ‘little’ Lego out, and created roads on the floor. The children have loved the warmer weather and we have spent lots of time on the hill, castle, and slide.

Have a lovely weekend,
The Nursery Team
