Phonics
This week we have introduced the children to ‘tricky words’. A tricky word is a word that can’t be sounded out, they have to know it by sight. This week our tricky word is I. The children have practised reading and writing the word.
They have also learnt the phonemes/graphemes for p, i and n.
Can you make any words with your flashcards?
Maths
We have been doing lots of practical counting this week. The children have been practising ‘putting the objects in a line and pointing to them one at a time’. We have been counting toys, beats on a drum and claps. The children had fun making their own ‘counting wands’ and have been busy using them and doing some super counting.
Our Families
This week we discussed who lives in our family and in our house. We have enjoyed sharing our family photos. We have also created our own houses and drawn our family too.
We enjoyed reading and discussing the story ‘A family is a family is a family.’
PE
The children enjoyed using the apparatus. They are learning to travel in different ways.
Everything Else…
Have a lovely weekend.
