Phonics

This week we have revised the phonemes ur, ow, oi, ear. Our tricky word is said.

Maths

This week, the children have consolidated their understanding of the composition of numbers by investigating the numbers within 7. Composing and de-composing numbers involves the children investigating part–part–whole relations, e.g. seeing that 7 can be made of 5 and 2. The children have deepened their understanding of a whole being made up of smaller parts through some fun games and practical experiences, such as investigating the number of ducks on a pond.

Busy Bee Books

This week, we have looked at various plants and discussed their different parts. The children then did some super writing in their Busy Bee books.

We also used the mint to make some delicious pea and mint soup.

Lots of litter!

The children enjoyed using the litter pickers to tidy our school grounds. They did a great job!

A dinosaur on the loose!

The children were very excited to find dinosaur footprints in the classroom! They went on a hunt looking for clues.

Secret Readers

Thank you to our Secret Readers. The children are enjoying listening to lots of super stories.

Everything Else…

Spring Event

We are looking forward to our Spring event on Wednesday 26th March from 9am-10am. Parents and grandparents are all welcome. You will need to wear wellington boots or walking boots as the grounds are muddy! After you have dropped your child off at their classroom please make your way to the top playground. Please wait near the yellow wooden house and Mrs Kumar will then explain how the event will work.

Have a lovely weekend.
