Phonics
This week we have learnt the phonemes ck, e, u. The children have learnt that ‘ck‘ is a digraph and is at the end of a word like in stick and duck. We have also learnt the tricky word go. Can your child write the word? Can they say it in a sentence?
Maths
This week we have been comparing groups of objects. We have been using the language “more than” and “fewer than”.
Understanding the World
This week we have been learning about the Hindu festival of light – Diwali. We shared the story of Rama and Sita and made Diwali cards.
We talked about who lives in our homes and how everyone’s family is different and special. We listened to the story ‘A Family is a Family is a Family’. The children then enjoyed making houses. We also created a display of Cote Lane.
Everything Else…
Bonfire Event
On Monday 11th November, you are all invited into school to enjoy watching the children perform a poem and dance and join in with some campfire songs. This event will be at 2.40pm and will hopefully be outside on the playground. If it is raining we will be in the infant school hall.
Have a lovely half-term holiday. We will see you all in November.
