Reception News – 6.7.23

Phonics

This week the children have looked at the tricky word ‘when’ and the consonant clusters ‘cr’ and ‘pt’. We have continued to practise our letter formation and sentence writing.

Maths

This week we have revisited addition and subtraction. The children worked in their ‘hive’ groups ready for Year 1 and answered addition and subtraction calculations. They impressed us with how well they all worked. The children also enjoyed playing this game; some were very quick! Click here to play it at home.

Poetry Slam!

This week the whole school took part in a poetry slam! The reception children were terrific and we are so proud of them.

  Love this! They all sound great! We’ve been practicing it all week. Not that you could tell with the boys. Lewis hasn’t stopped talking about being knickerbocker glory! 😂 Have a great weekend.
