Phonics
This week we have learnt the phonemes r, h, b, and f. We have also learnt the tricky word the. The children really enjoy playing Fast Phonics and receiving their certificates on Friday. Thank you for all of your support.
Maths
The children have done lots of counting activities this week. They have reinforced their understanding of cardinality – that the last number in the count tells us ‘how many’ things there are altogether in a set of objects. They have also deepened their understanding of the number 5 and used a die frame.
Firework Fun!
The children have had fun creating lots of beautiful firework pictures and making their own fireworks.
Remembrance Day
We have learnt about Remembrance Day. We remember those people and animals who died in wars. Poppies are the flowers people wear, as these are the flowers that grew on the battlefields after the war.
Everything Else…
Bonfire Event
Don’t forget we will be having our bonfire event on Monday 11th November at 2.40pm – 3pm. It will be held on the infant playground. Please wrap up warm. If the weather is very wet we will host the event in the infant hall. Please enter the school using the pedestrian gate on Cote Lane and make your way onto the playground. This is the gate near the Reception classrooms.
Have a great weekend.
