This week in Nursery
It has come to that time of year when we start to practise for our Christmas nativity performances. The children are doing well at leaning the songs. Our performances are on Tuesday 12th December at 9.20am and Thursday 14th December at 2.20pm. Your child will be performing on the days they usually attend Nursery so the beginning of the week children will only be in the Tuesday performance and the end of the week children will only be in the Thursday performance. Morning children will perform on Tuesday and the children who attend full time will be in both performances.
Child-led learning
This week one of our focus children was pretending to make a house for the dolls so we wondered if she would like to play with a proper doll’s house. She jumped at the chance so we enhanced our provision with a doll’s house and it has proved very popular with a lot of children.
Areas of provision
This week we changed one of our areas of provision using some additional furniture. We purposefully left the area free of resources to see what the children would do with it. We had an idea they might use it for a shop. When they arrived the following day they investigated the new area and began to take some resources in. “Does anyone want an ice cream?” the children were heard saying. They were using the wooden bricks to be the ice creams and used different shapes for different flavours! What imagination!
Lots of other fun!
As usual the children have been very busy. Here are just some of the things they have been doing…
Write Dance
Here is another ‘Write Dance’ activity the children have been enjoying this week for you to practise at home…
Have a lovely weekend from the Nursery team
