This week in Nursery
Staycation
We had a lovely day on Wednesday for our ‘Staycation’. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t kind to us in the afternoon but we adapted and still had lots of fun!
Explorers
The children had a great time exploring in the woods and other parts of our lovely school grounds. In Autumn we harvested some apples. Then in Winter we returned to see all the leaves had fallen from the trees. In Spring we saw all the beautiful blossom on the trees and now in Summer the apples are growing ready to be harvested in the Autumn.
Nature Crowns
The children really enjoyed finding different things in nature to stick on their crowns. Some just used leaves whilst others found bottle tops and flowers.
The Picnic!
The most important part of the day for the children! They ask almost immediately when they arrive “Is it picnic time yet?” The morning picnic was on the field but we had to improvise for the afternoon. The children still enjoyed their delicious food.
Great climbers
The children had a go on the KS1 climbing equipment and really showed how strong their upper bodies are and how confident they have become.
Story Bus
We had the final visit of the year from the Story Bus. The children really enjoy the experience and it will hopefully encourage them to become regularly visitors to the library. They have chosen a book each week from our library and we have had books from Farsley library to read in Nursery. It would be great if you could visit the library this summer.
Other fun!
As usual there was lots of fun and learning throughout the week…
Library books
Please can you return any outstanding library books as soon as possible. The children will start to choose library books again when they move into Reception.
Sports day
Next Wednesday it is our Sports Day and the Nursery children will be taking part. If your child attends Nursery on Wednesday morning they will stay with the Nursery staff and parents will be on the opposite side of the track. If you child does not attend on Wednesday morning then you can still bring them to take part and they will remain with you on the parents side of the track. Races will be called and you can send them to the start line and collect them from the finish line. All children will need to be dressed appropriately and can bring a NAMED water bottle. See you there!
Have a good weekend from the Nursery team
