This week in Year 5
We have had another great week in Year 5, with all the children really settled and working hard.
In English we have begun building skills that work towards writing a Greek Myth. The children have designed Greek monsters and heroes. We have worked on developing language in noun phrases and fronted adverbials. Spelling homework has been set on words with silent letters.
In Maths we have now finished addtion and subtraction and begun work on multiplication and division. We began this by investigating multiples and rules for finding out if a larger number is a multiple of 2, 5, 3 or 4. Homework has been set on identifying multiples.
5KH completed their final week on balances in gymnastics.
Here are so photos of the most creative and interesting balances.
History
In history we learnt about what we have today because of the Greeks. We looking into sports, the alphabet, food and different areas of Maths.
Next week we are planning to watch the film of Percy Jackson as it has been our class text this term. The film has a PG rating so we will send a note home. If you do not wish for your child to watch the film please let us know.
