Year 2 Bee Talk
As part of our minibeast topic, we are learning all about bees. We are extremely lucky to have our own apiary in our school grounds and our very own beekeepers. Nicole and Susan came in this afternoon to talk the children about bees.
The children listened brilliantly and asked lots of thoughtful questions. We asked, ” Do bees use pollen or nectar to make honey?” “What is a bee’s favourite flower?” “Do bees dance?” ” How do bees make honey?” “Why do bees sting?” “Do bees eat something different to nectar?”
We will be making our own bee books in English lessons over the next few weeks. They will have the answers to all these questions plus more!
Here we are looking at frames and dressing up in the bee keeper suits!
