Year 2 News 21.06.24
English and Art
We began our week with a bog baby hunt in our conservation area! We took some magic magnifying glasses to help our search. We were so lucky to ‘see’ some! We then made our bog babies from clay!
For the rest of the week we have written some non-chronological reports about bog babies. We used subheadings to organise our paragraphs on appearance, habitat and diet.
Spellings
This week we looked back at our spellings for words ending le, el and al. We then found that some words can also have the il ending making the same sound. e.g. nostril, fossil, pencil, pupil.
Maths
This week in maths we have learned about tally charts, tables, block graphs and pictograms.
Also- Don’t forget to go on TTRockstars this week to take part in the Year 2 class battle!
Geography
We used aerial photographs to find our way around the farm.
Skipping Competition
Well done to all the children in Year 2 for their hard work, determination and resilience in skipping this year. 30 children took part in the competition at Armley Leisure Centre and were fantastic at showcasing their skills.
