English
This week we have been retelling the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’. Children have acted it out in groups and looked at adding detail to a simple version. We have focussed on using adjectives and conjunctions. Can your child retell the story for you at home?
Spellings
We have been learning how to spell words with the oo sound. We have looked at the homophones blue/blew and new/knew as well as other words with the ue/ew/u-e spellings. We talked about making a ‘best bet’ guess if you’re not sure. ew and ue are at the end of the word e.g. clue/flew whereas the oo or u-e spelling is in the middle e.g. spoon/rude. You could try this activity at home:
Maths

PSHE and Homework
This week we have learned all about the benefits of eating a variety of fruits and vegetables. We would like the children to keep a record of their 5 a day next week. Please check homework books for this activity.

Cooking
Every week this half term, a group of children will work with Miss Campbell to bake some bread. Here are this week’s group enjoying mixing, kneading and shaping their bread rolls. We hope you enjoyed it.
