English
This week in English we have been reading, performing and writing poems about African animals. We have talked about patterns, alliteration and rhyme.
Spelling
This week we have been learning how to spell contractions such as don’t, can’t, I’m, shouldn’t, they’re. Children can still bring in their completed spelling homework sheets for a dojo after the holidays.
Maths
We have been learning about length and height in maths. The children have compared and ordered lengths as well as solving length problems using all four operations. After the holidays, we will move onto mass, capacity and temperature.
Art
We have created some beautiful African sunset silhouettes this week.

Visit to St John’s Church
On Thursday morning we walked down to St John’s Church in Farsley. We met Nathaniel, the new vicar, who told us all about the Easter story. We acted out parts of the story and asked and answered lots of questions. We had a fun Easter egg hunt afterwards!
