Year 6 15/03/24
English
We have had a very busy week this week with and the children have worked really hard. The children have been writing an explanation text all about the circulatory system, using very technical language and focusing carefully on their audience (Y3 children!).
We were also lucky enough to have an online lesson with Pie Corbett (an English educational trainer, writer, author and poet who has written more than two hundred books.) We took part in a writing lesson, where we began to develop our own goblins, work which we will be continuing with next week. We also took part in a grammar lesson focused on word classes and how to be very specific with our adjective choices. The children engaged really well and produced some really good sentences using the structures provided. We are really looking forward to beginning our goblin writing next week and think we will have some very interesting species of goblin to read about!
Science
This week the children worked in groups to collaboratively produce PowerPoint presentations about their learning so far in Science. They worked really well together and have produced some very informative presentations and we will be looking at sharing these with Y3 and 4 children next week.
