Year 6 25.10.24
English
We have finished our work on the wonderful Kensuke’s Kingdom and celebrated with a special screening of the new film. We are the first Year 6 group who have been lucky enough to see the film which only came out this year and we really enjoyed it. Mrs Dobkin cried (unsurprisingly) and the children gave it a score of 11/10.
For the last two weeks we have been working incredibly hard on our writing: a non-chronological report about our own imaginary islands. Some of the writing the children have produced has been utterly brilliant. Take a look at some of our finished pieces below.
Earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis!
This week we have finished our volcano work with some brilliant research into the different types of volcanoes. The children made great websites which you can see an example of here and created slideshows and circle books. We also investigated the causes of tsunamis and created beautiful pieces of work showing the stages of the phenomenon.

We continue our work on Sikhism this week looking at the 5Ks. Children researched the meaning behind each one and created websites, slide presentations and posters.
Have a look at some examples here and here of our websites and here of the slides we made.
